She could smell him from a mile away
And this close, she literally heard the blood flow in his veins.
His heartbeat made hers ache.
She wanted him,
In every way possible.
Her fangs grew,
Her nails too.
She feared losing control
But she had to wait!
'How to distract myself for now?'
He was making dinner.
Dinner for two he had offered.
Swore to be a gentleman.
She laughed and blushed,
He was definitely naive.
She shouldn’t have come.
Her after dinner plans were not noble.
All she wanted was him,
And a chance at forever.
He made small talk.
It only made it worse.
His voice never helped,
Not from the first day they met.
'I need to go get icecream,
I’ll be right back.’
Hopefully he’ll be done by then.
Hopefully they’ll be able to skip dinner altogether.
She had to promise herself not to 'snack' on the way.
She didn't give him a chance to respond.
He could only hope she'd actually return.
The real question though was
Was he ready?
Did he want her just as much?
Would he be willing to give up life as he knew it?
Just for her?
All for her?
She hoped!
She silently prayed!
She hurriedly ate a scoop
And soon finished the cone.
Icecream always helped,
To calm her nerves, to help her focus,
To distract her real hunger.
Hugging a bucket tightly
She walked excitedly.
Seems he’d make it through the night afterall.
He had Icecream to thank for that.
Either for immediately after dinner
Or she'd lie about needing it while eating,
That was his life insurance.
The full moon was still several days away
She had until then.
To have him forever,
Or discard him one way or the other!
